One of the things that’s struck me from working around the Web (and computing devices in general) over the past couple of decades is that the people who are best at this are quite literally getting paid to make shit up as they go along.

We don’t know how this stuff is supposed to work; hell, a lot of the time we don’t even really know what’s really possible. It’s a period of “yes, and…”, which is wonderful.
